Travelers Rest is a city in Greenville County.  It is located between the Blue Ridge Mountains and Greenville, the primary city of the Upstate region of South Carolina. The campus of Furman University is located just south of the city limits of Travelers Rest, but the university retains a Greenville address based on its ZIP code.

The name "Travelers Rest" came from the fact that it is situated close to the border with the North Carolina mountains. Travelers would stop for a moment in the town before they began the difficult journey into the mountains. Travelers would often have to spend the winter there, waiting for the snow to clear in the mountains before continuing northward.

Travelers Rest is home to several restaurants, breweries and The Swamp Rabbit Trail, a paved greenway beginning in downtown Greenville.

Taylors is a census-designated place in Greenville County and is the Greenville/Spartanburg area's largest suburb although it is not incorporated as a city. 

The Southern Bleachery and Print Works in the Taylors Mill was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2012.

There are plenty of museums and performing arts venues such Spartanburg Philharmonic Orchestra and Thompson Art Gallery.

Mauldin is a city in Greenville County.

Benjamin Griffith was awarded the first land grant in what is now called Mauldin in 1784. The name of Mauldin was given to the town almost accidentally in 1820 thanks to South Carolina's lieutenant governor, W. L. Mauldin. The train station was called "Mauldin" because the lieutenant governor had assisted in getting the Greenville Laurens Railroad Company to come through the village. Over time, the entire area took the name of Mauldin.
